About Young Friends of AVDA
Young Friends of AVDA is a group of philanthropically inclined, 40 and below Houstonians serving as donors and volunteers committed to supporting AVDA’s mission to end the cycle of family violence. Since the founding of Young Friends of AVDA in 2019, we have provided meaningful social, networking, educational and volunteer events for our members and their guests. Members have received exclusive access to a Club Suite at Minute Maid Park, tickets to an Astros game, cooking classes, cocktail and cheese happy hours, virtual trivia nights, wrapping holiday gifts for clients’ child(ren) and select invitations to AVDA’s larger fundraising events. Please see below pictures from our past events.
Last year, the Young Friends of AVDA raised more than $4,500 in support of AVDA’s mission. These proceeds came from the generous donations members make through their membership fee. We are excited to share that the donations raised from the Young Friends of AVDA will support AVDA’s Camp Carefree, a no-cost weekend of food, lodging and camp activities offered to families who have been or who are current clients of AVDA. This weekend retreat serves as an extension of AVDA’s mission and gives survivors a chance begin again while to spending quality time together and healing.
Membership is affordable at $100 per person and provides access to the 2022 Young Friends of AVDA calendar of events. Become a member so you can join us for these social and networking opportunities centered around spreading awareness of AVDA’s mission to end abuse and help survivors claim their new beginning.
