Donate to end family violence:

Every donation matters

AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of family violence in Austin, Grimes, Fort Bend, Harris, Waller and Washington counties. For 40 years, AVDA has provided advocacy, safety planning and legal representation for more than 100,000 survivors.

AVDA relies heavily on donor support to bridge the gap between operating expenses and funding needs. Whether making a general donation or directing your funds to a specific initiative, such as the AVDA Education Fund or Joseph D. Jamail Endowment, every dollar supports our clients.

Give to the AVDA Education Fund

AVDA realizes that often victims of domestic abuse have difficulty leaving an abusive relationship due to financial control by the abuser. The AVDA Education Fund was established by loyal AVDA donors, the Bruce and Ede Weiner Family, to ensure that our survivors and their families regain their independence from their abuser and begin the journey to self-sufficiency. Through this fund, financial stipends are provided for the continuation and lack of interruption of college credit hours, higher education supplies, trade school funds, licensing help, and more.

Donate today to change a life and to help break the cycle of domestic violence!

Give to The Joseph D. Jamail Endowment Fund

The Joseph D. Jamail Endowment Fund, established by Joe Jamail in 2014, permanently endows an AVDA attorney position to provide legal services to victims of domestic abuse who are categorized as the “working poor.” These clients do not qualify for traditional legal aid but do not earn enough to pay for quality legal representation. AVDA believes that no one should be denied access to justice because of an inability to pay. Through AVDA’s legal representation and advocacy, clients are able to break the ties that bind them to their abuser and truly begin again.
